Bright Choice SAT Test Prep launched!

Happy new year and we hope you enjoyed the winter holidays as much as we did!

You should have received your PSAT results by now and maybe you are thinking that you would like to score higher. I offer smaller class size and better prices compared to the big name offerings at nearby high schools. I have built this curriculum based on my years of experience working for a major test prep company in New York City.

Here are a few things about the PSAT and SAT.

  • If you scored in the 500s in a subject, I am confident that we can increase your score by 50-70 points by reviewing content and test-taking techniques through one of our courses.
  • If you scored 600s or 700s in a subject, we are going to have to work together to sharpen your skills for the medium and hard questions on the SAT.
  • The math in the SAT goes up to Algebra 2 and you are only allowed a scientific calculator. Therefore, it is a bright choice to take the SAT right after completing Algebra 2 in school (which is sophomore year for most of you). This way you still have a decent grasp of the formulae and methods.
  • There is no advantage in waiting until junior or senior year to start thinking about your scores and college applications.

We have organized 2 courses to prepare you for the upcoming SATs. For just $659, you'll get 3 practice tests and 18 hours of instruction over an 8 week period leading up to the test.

  • For March 14 and May 2 SATs. Please register with Bright Choice by email or phone by Jan 11.
Class schedule: Sun 01/18 (Practice SAT), Sat 01/24, Sat 01/31, Sat 02/07, Sun 02/08 (Practice SAT), Sat 02/14, Sat 02/21, Sun 02/22 (Practice SAT), Sat 02/28

  • For June 6 SAT. Please register with Bright Choice by email or phone by Mar 22.
Class Schedule : Sun 03/29 (Practice SAT), Sat 04/11, Sat 04/18, Sat 04/25, Sun 04/26 (Practice SAT), Sat 05/02, Sat 05/09, Sun 05/10 (Practice SAT), Sat 05/16

In general, students take a practice test on Sunday and on the following Saturday, we spend about 30 minutes reviewing verbal/writing questions, 1 hour of verbal/writing test prep, 30 minutes reviewing math questions, and finish with 1 hour of math test prep. On Saturdays that do not follow a practice test, we spend 1.5 hours on verbal/writing test prep and 1.5 hours on math test prep.

For those of you who are not yet sure about the 8 week commitment, we offer a practice test and one on one review for $175. You come in for a practice test and schedule a follow-up session, during which we will review as much of the SAT course content and test-taking skills as we can in one hour, tailored to your results on the practice test.

  • Available on Jan 11 and 18, Feb 8 and 22, Mar 1, 22, and 29, Apr 19 and 26, May 3 and 24. Please register with Bright Choice via email or phone 2 days in advance.
